Local Assets
Your colour resources, on this machine, ready offline.
Local Assets keeps a local mirror of the colour resources the other plugins need - ICC profiles, reference data, control strips, colour libraries and palettes, tolerance sets, OK sheets - each pointed at a folder you choose.
What it does for you
Colour work stops the moment a profile cannot be found. Local Assets means the profile, the strip definition and the tolerance set are on the workstation, where a slow network or a lost connection cannot take them away.
It also means every plugin agrees about what "GRACoL 2013" is: they all read the same folder, so a profile updated once is updated everywhere.
What you can do
- One folder per asset type, or a single root with the standard layout created for you
- Syncs from the ChromaChecker server, so a library published centrally reaches every workstation
- Serves other plugins directly - Softproofing finds its profiles here, Print Data its colour libraries, Fingerprint its OK sheets and control strips
- Browse what you hold, with each asset's own name and identifier rather than its download filename
- Control strips are shown as pictures, at their real shape
Getting started
Enable Local Assets in the Plugin Manager and open its view. Choose a root folder - Documents is the usual home, because these are your files - and the standard sub-folders are created for you.
Part of ChromaChecker CC Capture. Plugins are enabled in Plugins -> Plugin Manager. This page describes the plugin as of CC Capture 4.0.570.
